He taught Madonna everything she knows - Google Video

He taught Madonna everything she knows - Google Video

Sooooo, the story goes it was one of our friend's (Maff) 30th Birthday party last weekend.
It was a house party and everyone was fairly trolleyed as you'd expect, and people began to trail home about 11 o'clockish....just as the fun was starting!! The records got cheesier and cheesier into the early hours and the dancing got worse, - until Ian was persuaded to give everyone his special Madonna rendition.
The video I captured was too good to waste, so I've been trying to work out how to give it the maximum publicity. It was then I discovered how easy it is to use Google Video!
Anyway I have to say I'm well impressed with the result, and on the techie side of things it's amazingly simple to do. (Phone captures in mpeg4 so didn't require converting).

Scary

Your car engine catching fire must be scary enough but this lorry driver must have been bricking it when it happened to him and he was pulling a trailer full of paper!! (I came across this when I was out and about this morning).

"Aaaaand........ACTION!"

I recently moved hospitals (as in-my place of work), because the hospital I used to work in is being de-commisioned. I still go to the old site though on virtually a daily basis because of other work going on there. I returned there this morning to find furniture had been moved into my old office. I enquired about this as I was told it would not be used again, and was informed that the office is actually full of props for a filmset! ITV are filming another series of 'Wire In The Blood', and the hospital is being used for an episode.
My old office is to be a Doctor's Office, and the area outside - a nurses station. I then came across the bizarre looking room pictured on the left <<. This used to be a coffee lounge type waiting area, with an old brown carpet and chairs, but for the pursposes of the show it's now to be a 'Therapy Room'. The photo probably doesn't reflect how harsh the checkerboard effect is on the eye!
Anyway, if I get any more info as to when the actual episode is to be shown, I'll obviously post the details on here. There are additional photos in my flickr pages, -see link below.

End of an Era

About 6 years ago the internet was a very different place, - and if you want the truth it was a far more enjoyable experience. There weren't anywhere near as many viruses, scammers, malicious websites, or other bad things which we associate with it these days.
Back then I was introduced to a kind of chat site called 'Dobedo' (no url as site no longer exists), where everyone had their own little avatar in a virtual cartoon world. It was quite revolutionary at the time and was all very new to me. I met people from all over the world on there and really enjoyed it whilst it lasted. You're wondering where this post is going right?!....

Well I met this one guy in there who went by the name of Mac. I remember he was really friendly and a valuable guide around the place. Anyway I got to know him by his irl name - Gerrard, and discovered that he was originally from the Netherlands. After Dobedo closed I kept in touch with Gerrard in an indirect sort of way, because he also had a Livejournal which developed into a 'blog', and there was always an accompanying photojournal. His blog was always interesting to me because his life seemed so much different to mine; He lives in London so everyday life is obviously going to be very different to mine straight away, - but there's more to it than that... Gerrard has strong opinions on certain things which some of us probably never give a second thought to, - his look on life is very 'out there' compared to some peoples. Hence his blog became one of the first sites I would look at on a morning when checking the web.
That was until this week however, which brings me to the crux of this post - Gerrard has this week stopped writing his blog. I'm sure he has his reasons, and I know he has a lot of other stuff going on in his life right now, but I just thought the event deserved a mention here.
If you're reading Mac, - thanks for all the updates mate and Good Luck....:o) See you on msm

It's a Dogs (and Cat!) life

Dossed Pets
Originally uploaded by Beebop Alula.

We took delivery of our new sofa's at the weekend, and instantly set some new house rules, - i.e. no pets allowed on them. At first we thought they'd taken to this ok, until we discovered they're simply going upstairs and lying on the bed instead!!!
How comfy do they look!!

Newcastle's greatest ever number 9

Cheering Gallowage end
Originally uploaded by Beebop Alula.

Anyone with the slightest interest in sport will know all about Alan Shearer's achievement on Saturday when he became Newcastle's greatest ever goal scorer.
One of mates (Ross) was at the game and all ready with camera in hand to capture the atmosphere. This shot's my favourite with the animated hands and Shearer facing the crowd in the Gallowgate end. 'Nearly' makes me miss going to the match!!
Let's hope the team have now tuned a corner! (More photo's in my Flickr pages).
